[sigh]
[sigh] ho hum. Rocco, and Ro and tonight's church service are giving me reason to do a deep personal inventory. Luckily, I've got work to keep me distracted from paying attention to my life. But what of the soul? Now, that's worth a look. But where to start?

You don't start with you. You start with God.
First, you find out what kinds of things we humans are supposed to do. Simple enough.
Second, you evaluate your own strengths and weaknesses. What you're good at and bad at. Not quite as easy but still feasable.
Third, you do some of the things that we humans are supposed to do based on what you're good at. (See steps one and two above.)
Fourth, you get better at the things you're not good at and try to do them too. Aye, that's the tricky one.
Fifth, you start NOW! You are capable. You are strong. You have been one of the main influences in my life, that's for sure. You have done more good in the world than you can possibly imagine already. And for some of it, you weren't even really trying. Since we're in a past dwelling mood, why not consider that the good you have already done far outweighs any of the negative. Why, I wouldn't be a Christian today if you hadn't taken me to church when I was a kid. No one else did.
Sometimes it seems like you forget that you are an amazing person, Uncle John, with a powerful and influential force working through you. You don't even have to look for it or identify it or define it. Just let it. It's there. You won't understand it. You can't. You don't examine or say. You just do.
THE PAST IS NOTHING.
It's what you do from here.
The future is only the consequence of NOW. The present is your opertunity. Go.
