Poligamy
Yet more Bible thumping. If you get tired of this in my blog, please read another :-)
I had a few late nights to catch up on my news viewing this past week since I was traveling for work and my evening entertainment options were limited. Since I don't have premium cable at home, I'm stuck with local news while not traveling, which doesn't always cover the stories I'm interested in with enough detail. I heard a lot about the FBI's most wanted character whose biggest crime so far appears to be poligamy [gasp]. It dawned on me that while poligamy is illegal in the US, adultery apparently isn't. What's really odd is that they're almost the same thing, except that adultery is based on lies and deception, while the poligamists I saw on t.v. were completely open about their lifestyle with their other partners.
What was even stranger was that while I don't personally know any poligamists, I do know at least one person living in unrepentant adultery. The world (well, the US anyway) has really gotten screwy since I was a kid. Or, was it always like this, and I'm just figuring it all out?
P.S. I managed to make it to Disney World while I was in Florida also.

Warren Jeffs is wanted for Poligamy, but more severe than that are his crimes of pedophilia - he is wanted for at least two counts of sexual assault on a minor. Basically in the FLDS, they 'marry' off young girls (as young as 10-12 yrs old) to the elders of the church (including himself. Jeffs (also known as the prophet)decides which elder gets which young girl based on what "God" revealed to him. Let me be clear that I am NOT in support of adultry, but I think harming innocent children is MUCH more horrendous (sorry, I'll get off my soap box now!) -T

#2. Just for the sake of conversation, avoid the notion of "serial monogamy" for a moment and think about alternate avenue for your answer.
