This is it?
So, this is it? This is my life? I'm working right now. It's 9:30 pm on a Monday. I worked until 4 AM on Saturday, but mostly because I thought I did something horrible. Praise God though - I accidentally deleted 300,000 rows from a table, but they miraculously returned for me.
I think I'm burning out at work. I don't think I'm going to be the first person to show up and the last person to leave anymore. There's urgent work that needs to get done, and right now I'm the only person who can do it. But you know what? I'm booked. My plate is full. It's not going to get done until we start hiring some people who can handle some of this.
You know what? I'm going on vacation. I don't know where I'm going yet, but I'm going. This couldn't come at a worse time with Summer vacation right around the corner. But I'm determined to take a break in the next 90 days, and I don't want the upcoming IDUG conference next week to count.
I'll send you a postcard. ;-)

#1. Do you want to go camping with us? It's not exactly a vacation, but it can be a rather mind-clearing experience.
Join mmmme, Matt, Jello, Mark&Patty etc, at the Boonville Beer Festival this weekend. We'll camp Fri&Sat right next to the festival. It was so much fun last year. Just bring a sleeping bag or blanket. I'll provide tent, lots of BBQ, mountain air, camp chair, and BEERGAMMON. ~75 breweries will be there.

How does Italy sound? My dad and brother have now both backed out! So it looks like I may be going alone. Ticket is non-refundable.
I've been checking out the websites regarding trains, Pensiones (pretty reasonable rates for single rooms, so we'd still be kosher), museums, architecture, coffee, wine, Italian ettiquette, lovely accomodations in beautiful Monasteries, Florence, Rome, Venice and Tuscany. Gorgeous... I'm a pretty easy traveling companion... Seriously think about it.
