One body, Many parts

"For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that body, being many, are one body: so also in Christ. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it."

1 Cor 12:12,26 [reference corrected by Josh Ryan]

J was out sick on Sunday - wow, did we miss him. I tried to cover for him as best I knew how, but I've decided something. Our church is run on the timely execution of a million tiny things that all need to happen in order to function properly. Most of which involve the moving of chairs. Doing the sound on a Wednesday night is pretty straight forward because we don't have special trios or ensembles. I still don't know as much as I would like about the soundboard, but I have the sneaking suspicion that I'm going to learn as we go into the Christmas musical.

Comments:
#1. It's 1 Cor 12:12,26.

#2. Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but that's kind of the wrong passage to quote when talking about the dealings of an "independant" protestant (split from the main body of the church) church.

#3. I also realize that's not what you were talking about here and my comment is a bit out of place.

#4. But I couldn't resist.

#5. Well, actually I could. But what kind of friend would I be if I didn't throw it out there?

#6. The more you get into this stuff, the more your held accountable, aren't 'cha!? : )

#7. (Kind of like the pope...) ; p

Ah, right. I think I fat fingered the verse. Thanks for the correct reference. I'm simply a man who seeks the truth through the Bible alone, with no additions or subtractions as some churches have done by enforcing additional doctrine or sacraments.

If you understand that you are a sinner AND If you understand that the wages of sin is death in hell AND if you understand that God loves you and He doesn't want you do die in hell AND if you understand that He sent His son, Jesus, to pay the price for your sins AND you accept that payment THEN you shall be saved.

That should be pretty basic, right? Then, why are you jumping on my back with words like "split from the main body of the church"? Honestly, I don't understand you some times.

Do you believe I'm wrong for following ONLY the Bible? Should I adopt the additional doctrines?
