Fire & Brimstone

I'm not all doom and gloom. In fact, I'm pretty happy lately, but I was thinking of this the other day...

The worst day on Earth is better than the best day in Hell.

Then, I had an entirely eye opening thought today...

Slick are the walls of the pit which leads to Hell. But oh, how even those slippery walls would be sought after by those who have fallen so far that there is only thin air to grab onto when the tongues of the flame begin to lick at their feet. - jcolino

Now, that sounds "doom and gloom", but it's really not if the warning serves to get people right with God. Actually, I really don't have any indepth writing or musing about the subject. Everything else I could think of to blog was completely tangential to the subject of the wrath of God. Is it sufficient to say that God loves you and wants you to be saved today? For what it's worth, I'm glad He saved me.

Update

I'm on a conference call right now, and while it's "not my turn" to talk about anything, I thought I'd give an update. Last night, two teenagers from my church came by to help pull ivy and rip the remaining jasmine off the fence. They really gave it all they had - thanks. Funny thing about progress. Although I know that progress is being made, the house continues to look horrible. Well, maybe not really horrible, but there are piles of vines all over the place and all available yard waste cans are full.

On the plus side, I have doors now. Dad (et. al.) came over Saturday to show me how to hang a door. They look much better than the originals - spackle is my new best friend. I see what my brother was talking about. This will be my third such remodel, but this one is very different because I'm doing much much more than I ever had.

I a nutshell, I've definitely bitten off more than I can chew, and I couldn't be happier! I'm incredibly blessed.

A Father's Love CAN|

Happy Father's Day! (albeit early)

Although I'm not a Father, I have a Father. I saw this video a few days ago about the love of a father. But it's much more than that. It's a picture of how God my Father is the all-supporting tri-athlete in my life. A few years ago, I came to the realization that I can do exactly nothing under my own strength. I know this without a doubt - I tried. My best effort on my best day under my own strength was the equivalent of falling out of bed with a grunt compared to what this father does for his son.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. I can because He has. So many Biblical verses come to mind when I see this video. I also recall the poem about footprints in the sand.

Happy Father's Day. Remember, you have a Father who loves you. Romans 5:8

We put the "FUN" In fundamentalist

Although we had a lot of fun this weekend doing a lot of things, my camera is telling me that that most fun was on the ferry going to the Channel Islands where we encountered a few whales and several (possibly as many as 2000) dolphin all doing their thing for us. O.K. not everyone had the best time on the boat.

I really like camping, and I'm so very blessed to be in the best state for camping. We have the ocean, the forests, the desert, the snow. We've got everything here.

Robotic barf

So, after seeing the "Luke Arm" in action, I got curious about robotics - again. I did what I normally do once I get to youtube. I keep clicking on related links until I find something like this.
