Arizona rain
The highlight of last weekend: --> I was driving through Arizona under massive black rainclouds. In the distance, I could see columns of rain and lightning strikes every few seconds. When I got into the rain, I could smell the dust being kicked up by the huge raindrops. Nothing else smells like that. Nothing. It was wonderful.

Making up for lost time, I went to Four Corners finally. Actually, let me back up. Years ago, I set out to visit a different state each year. Time passed and I ended up going to a different country each year instead - which is also nice, but isn't my original plan. Since I'd fallen behind by a few years, a visit to Four Corners seemed like the best way to play catchup. You'll notice that my feet aren't actually in Colorado in the picture, but rest assured, I sat and stood in all four states at the same time.
Actually, let me back up a little more. Last December, I got an odd pressing desire to visit Four Corners. Since it was the middle of winter, everyone who knew the area told me that I would have been kept out due to bad weather. I shelved the idea of a road trip, but kept it in the back of my head. A month or so ago, I got an opportunity to be a blessing to Miss R and drove her car from Denver to Morgan Hill.
Average Speed: 64 MPH
Trip time: 34:12
Drive time: 20:54
(6 hrs on Friday, 15 hrs on Saturday)
Trip distance: 1342.1 miles
